Instantaneous Behavioural Change – It’s the Only Thing Possible
Want to change your behaviour? The only way you can do it is to change it right now.
Every instant in our lives we are defining exactly our behaviour.
Here’s how I came to this understanding.
I Am Not I Will Be
I had picked out a certain behaviour in my life that I wanted to change and decided to plan it out before I go to sleep.
Here and there I read about Intention Manifestation and a common theme is to set what you want in your mind as something that you already have rather than something you want.
So in starting to change my behaviour I imagined myself exhibiting the behaviour I wanted to adopt.
Doing this I asked myself what is stopping me from adopting this behaviour?
Nothing.
The answer hit me like a bus.
When it comes to our behaviour we are choosing it in every instant. So right now I can choose how to act.
When it comes to manifesting physical things it is a bit harder to believe you already posses something but when it comes to behaviour it is totally realistic for me to believe that I can act however I want.
Reinforcing the Behavioural Change
Because I totally believe I can act in the new way (which clearly I can) I start living my days acting this way.
In the moments when thoughts/feelings jump in that want to act in the old behaviour I simply tell myself that, that was the old me. This is my new way of being and I let those other thoughts fade away. Reinforcing my new way behaviour.
You define your behaviour in every moment of your life and you can change it instantaneously if you want.
So make change now.

Great point Jarrod – we all the power to choose. Especially when it comes to our behavior. Reading this, it’s like hearing it for the first time – like a light bulb is going off. The freedom to choose our behavior – yes!

Hi Jarrod
Yes, it is all about choice. We can choose our behaviour, we can choose our response to life.

Perfect time for this to come out, since most people are forgetting their resolutions by now. We don’t need a special day to start all our new habits, instead we need to simply act the way we want to be. It isn’t complicated as we think, instead it is simple but hard.
Good ideas.
